Duplex Steel 2205 Sheet, Plates & Coils

Mahabali Steel Centre is one of the well-established trading house and supplier of Duplex Stainless Steel S32205 Sheets, Plates and Coils , which finds its applications due to both excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. It has excellent general corrosion resistance, and superior to Grade 316 in most environments. Duplex Steel S32205 sheets offered by Mahabali Steel are the most widely used duplex (ferritic / austenitic) stainless steel grade.

It has excellent resistance to localized corrosion including inter - granular, pitting and crevice corrosion, where the CPT is generally at least 35 Degree C. Duplex Steel S32205 plates give better guaranteed corrosion resistance, and are also resistant to chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) at temperatures of up to about 150 Degree C.

This grade cannot be hardened by thermal treatment, but does work harden. Duplex Steel S32205 coils offered by Mahabali Steel are not generally suitable for use at temperatures above 300 Degree C as it suffers from precipitation of brittle micro constituents, and nor below -50 Degree C because of its ductile – to – brittle – transition. Solution treatment (annealing) – heat to 1020 Degree C – 1100 Degree C and cool rapidly.

Duplex Alloy S32205 sheets will often perform well in environments which cause premature failure of austenitic grades. It has better resistance to sea water then Grade 316. If embrittled, Duplex Alloy S32205 plates can only be rectified by a full solution annealing treatment, which further are almost never used above 300 Degree C.
